Chairman Mondello Urges Governor to Focus on New York's Needs, Not His Personal

ALBANY, NY (06/26/2007; 1653)(readMedia)-- After failing to deliver real results for the people of New York State in one of the most dysfunctional, disappointing legislative sessions by a Governor in recent memory, it appears that Governor Spitzer is reverting back to his comfort zone as a partisan politician.

New Yorkers need a statesmanlike Governor who will deliver the results they need. They do not need any more empty rhetoric or endless personal insults from this Governor. They do not need him once again trying to ram through his personal agenda or steamroll anyone with a legitimate difference of opinion.

Instead of being accountable and taking responsibility for his lack of leadership and results, he lashes out in retaliation. Instead of being honest with the public, he inflates his own record.

The Governor should take a long look in the mirror and review the promises he made, and failed to deliver, to New Yorkers. It is time for the Governor to focus on what New York really needs—results, not petty politics.
