Easy Access

Make it easy for reporters and editors to reach you after sending out a news release. Whenever possible, give the media multiple options for getting a hold of you – including your cell phone numbers and email addresses. Keep in mind that reporters may have questions at any time of day and you should always try to answer these questions as quickly as possible. Delaying can often prevent your story from making the news.

Note: Remember that your releases and media contact information will appear online, so don’t include email addresses or phone numbers that you want to keep private!

Did you know: you can make changes and additions to your “Media Contact” fields while sending a release through readMedia? On each line, there is room to insert other important contact details – such as email addresses, job titles and fax numbers.
